Cooper’s Journey with Severe Hemophilia
Cooper’s story was pretty intense! Cooper’s brave mama, Sammy gave in-depth insight into his unexpected medical journey of having a bleeding disorder know as Hemophilia. This is a story many parents can relate to and learn from. Also I noticed how Katie gently and skillfully guided this interview with great care!

Amazing Resource and Community!
The Child Life on Call podcast has been an amazing way to gain perspective both as a toddler Dad and a bioinformatics researcher. Hearing the journeys of some many courageous patients and families shared in such a caring and sensitive way provides so much inspiration and context. I've also recently started volunteering with Child Life Services at my local hospital and this podcast is a great reminder of how much is going on under the surface of each interaction. This podcast goes beyond theory and shows the impact of Child Life Specialists in real situations. Thanks for this wonderful resource and to all the patients and families for sharing your stories!

INSPIRED
I have been a Child Life Specialist for over seven years. I’ve been in the same hospital in the same unit, and it is easy to fall into a pattern of mundane routine. Katie’s podcast reminds me, again and again, of the endless WHY I chose child life as a career. The stories, the perspectives, the lessons we all can learn! Every episode leaves me inspired to try just a little harder, work just a little smarter, and, of course, make the world a little kinder!

With a wealth of experience and lots of guests on the show with wisdom in their areas of expertise or personal experience, you’re guaranteed to walk away from this podcast better than it found you.
MUST LISTEN as a parent
As a parent of a child with a medical complexity and rare diagnosis as well as a “neurotypical” child, I can truly say this podcast is just what ALL families need (in my opinion). The podcast is diverse and dynamic in what it covers and who is on the podcast. I believe Katie empowers people to advocate for their families in a way they may not have learned otherwise.

This creation is a place of information and affirmation. As a mom who has struggled with my children’s medical needs and emotions, I appreciate what Katie has worked to provide. I distinctly remember in the beginning of my sons diagnosis wanting to ask another mom how they handled things. What a support and gift that has been created here. Such valuable information and a comforting platform for people. Just what we need- stories, information, love, support and understanding!!! Just amazing!
